Setting Up Live Environment Monitoring

Setting Up Live Environment Monitoring

Connect your sensors to Meridian and get real-time temperature, humidity, VPD, and CO2 data streamed directly to your grow space.

Supported devices

Meridian currently supports:

How to connect a device

  1. Go to your Grow Space page
  2. Tap the Connections tab
  3. Tap Add Connection
  4. Select your device provider from the list
  5. Follow the setup wizard

The wizard walks you through each step specific to your device type — including how to find your API key (Govee) or configure webhook URLs (Ecowitt).

Govee setup details

You'll need a Govee API key:

  1. Open the Govee Home app
  2. Go to ProfileAbout UsApply for API Key
  3. Enter your name and the reason ("home automation")
  4. The key arrives by email within minutes
  5. Enter it in Meridian's setup wizard

Ecowitt setup details

Ecowitt stations push data to a webhook URL:

  1. Open the Ecowitt app or WS View Plus app
  2. Go to Weather ServicesCustomized
  3. Enter the webhook URL shown in Meridian's setup wizard
  4. Set the upload interval (60 seconds recommended)

What you'll see

Once connected, your grow space page shows:

Live readings — current temperature (F and C), humidity, VPD, CO2, fan speed, and light level (depending on what your sensor reports). Readings refresh every 30 seconds.

Freshness indicator — shows whether data is Live (green, updated in the last 2 minutes), Stale (yellow, 2-10 minutes old), or Offline (red, no recent data).

24-hour history chart — toggle between temperature, humidity, VPD, CO2, and fan metrics. Select time ranges from 6 hours to 7 days. Summary stats (min, max, average) appear below the chart.

AI integration

When you have a sensor connected and select that plant in AI chat, the AI automatically sees your recent environment data. It can tell you:

This is one of the most powerful features in Meridian — the AI doesn't guess about your environment, it knows.

Troubleshooting

Connection shows "Offline"

Readings seem wrong

Connection shows "Error"

Privacy and security

Your sensor credentials are stored securely and are never visible in the app interface. Meridian only reads data from your devices — we never send commands to your equipment or change any settings.
