Deleting your account permanently removes you from Meridian: your identity, your words, your photos, and your device credentials are erased, and your subscription is cancelled immediately. De-identified measurements (sensor readings, environment history, harvest numbers) are kept to improve growing knowledge for everyone; they can't be traced back to you. One named exception: records proving which emails we sent are kept for up to 3 years with the address replaced by an irreversible code. This cannot be undone.
Numeric measurements survive with every name, note, and identifier stripped out: sensor readings, environment history, nutrient amounts and schedules, harvest weights and dates, and species-level growing statistics. These de-identified records are grouped under a random key that has no link back to any account, so nobody (including us) can trace them to you. They exist so the platform's growing knowledge keeps improving for everyone.
We keep the record of transactional emails we sent you for up to 3 years, as proof of what was communicated and when. Your email address in those records is replaced by an irreversible code at the moment you delete your account. A short internal record that the deletion happened is also kept.
If you have an active subscription it is cancelled immediately, before anything else is deleted. If billing cancellation fails for any reason, the deletion stops and your account stays fully intact.
Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone. There is no grace period and no recovery; if you return, you start with a new account. Automated backups may persist for up to 90 days before being permanently purged.
